A. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Faustino Lao Villo or Lolo Tinong – whose picture can be seen in LOLO TINONG’S BAKERY’S logo – is an icon in the bakeshop business. He learned the art of bread making while working in a bakery in Cebu. In 1923, the year he got married, he decided to put up his own bakery.
Faustino Lao Villo, just married and possessing excellent baking skills, having work as a baker decided to open his own bakery; using a drum for an oven and bamboo poles for dough rollers, he made Tinong’s Bakery famous for its tasty bread.
Ruperto Banzon Villo, oldest son and possessing excellent business acumen, revived and propelled the bakery to become a financial success; together, father and son made Tinong’s Bakery an “institution” – famous for its bakery products that are “once tasted, always wanted.”
