Franchise Business Promotion

The often-asked question running in the mind of the entrepreneur is will my franchise business, or any business for that matter; survive without any form of advertisement? The short answer to this would be no. No business can survive without some from of advertisement because how can your franchise business thrive when no one knows you even exist. When talking to a businessman about advertisement, the first thing that comes to mind is how expensive would it be to advertise on television, radio and print media. But these are just some advertisement options available. While these are the top 3 most effective medium to effectively promote your business, not all forms of advertisement are prohibitively expensive.

There are some relatively inexpensive ways of promoting your franchise business. Handing out flyer's on busy street corners or positioning you in key mall areas will let people know what products you are offering. Putting up posters on designated areas is a lot cheaper that a billboard and is quite effective especially if it’s located in high human traffic areas.

But the most effective way to advertise is to provide your customers with products and services that offer great value for their money and they will do the advertising for you. Word of mouth advertising is the best and free method available. Word of mouth is like networking. Just like recruiting a down line, a person tells two people and each of them tells another two person and so on and so forth. And in no time, word will spread like wild fire and popular networks stations might provide your business with free advertising by featuring you in a segment in their show.

Advertising Using Keywords

Keyword Advertising

If you are doing your business online. Keyword advertising is one type of advertisement that can be very effective in bringing sales and traffic to your site, Keyword advertising is very effective. For example you are selling native handicrafts. When someone search "handicrafts" or "native handicrafts" at a search engine like Google and Yahoo, these search engine often shows advertising based on the keywords that you searched for, in the search results on the page.

One of the most popular type of keyword advertising is Google Adsense, which is a pay per click based advertisement. Your ad will be showed on similar teamed websites so the chance that someone will click on you advertisement will be very high since the visitors are already looking for products or services you are offering.

In the Philippines, Online marketing has yet to fully take off due to the love of Pinoys for actually going to a mall to shop and to haggle in tiangges. But due to the conveniences of shopping online and the increasing number of Pinoy internet users. The future of keyword advertising via pay per click is an exciting one.

    Advertising Service as a Product

    Advertising Service

Advertising service as a product is a bit difficult since there is no tangible item involved. You cant touch it, hold it or smell it. Customer satisfaction must be extra high for a service oriented business since negative customer feedback will be disastrous no matter how hard you try to advertise. And if you are running a niche business, word travels extra fast, more so than any other type of business.

You don't have to have a purely service oriented type of business like a car wash station or a Laundromat to advertise service. Take for example my favorite Filipino owned company Jollibee. They are in the food business, but aside from the food they are also selling service. When you enter a Jollibee store. The service crew are friendly and magalang ... Well at least in my experience so far. They work fast and efficiently in getting my order and will help deliver my tray if I cant carry it all in one trip. If I want something like extra napkins, it will only take them a short time to deliver it to me. Now that's what I call service and value for my money.

This is the type of service that I hope most company out there will try to emulate. I know most companies out there don't have the big budget Jollibee spends on its advertising. But if the service you provide is good, word travels fast and a few good referrals from word of mouth will give you loyal customers who would gladly recommend you to their friends and family.
