Franchising Choo-Choo waffle

Young lawyers-turned-entrepreneurs Melvin and Joycel Panlilio, whose Choo-Choo's Waffle Station was born four years ago, "We like, love, and enjoy our business." Now in their early 30s, the couple said that like other businesses, there have been hurdles. Yet by taking calculated risks and learning through trial and error, their business has endured. Melvin said, "You should know what your market wants." According to his wife Joycel, who manages the day-to-day operations but constantly consults with husband Melvin, they are open to criticisms and always ask feedback from their customers and friends to their products.

From their initial waffle products like plain hotdog and plain cheese, Choo-Choo's Waffle Station has added variety to the menu. The Panlilios met during their law school days at Ateneo de Manila University. From their first cart they set up in the first mall in Angeles City, Pampanga, the business has expanded to a multiple cart operation. At last year's 2nd Filipino Franchise Show, they were able to close four deals for Baguio, Dagupan, Metro Manila, and Angeles locations.
