As Christopher Columbus set sail to explore the New World, he made sure he had enough men, provisions and a very good cook. Queen Isabella had dispatched for his service one of the best from her royal kitchens: Enrico d' Angelo, an Italian-born migrant who the Queen usually took along in her sojourns.

Columbus immediately took great liking to Enrico's cooking, particularly his knack for making gustatory delights out of simple food provisions on board. As soon as they set foot on the island which he named "San Salvador", he ordered for a grand feast, and as expected, Enrico whipped up one none could forget. Using the bounties of the island, Enrico prepared a pizza and pasta feast that even the natives enjoyed immensely.

Enrico became a permanent member of Columbus' crew, until on the third voyage, he got permission from the Great Explorer to permanently settle with his young wife, a native of San Salvador, in the New World. Alas, Columbus never got to see how his Master Chef conquered the New World. Enrico d'Angelo became known to the natives as "Don Henrico", bestowing him the title "Don", which to them meant royalty. Don Henrico and his wife Charo opened a restaurant which featured the best of Italian cuisine and the newly-discovered taste of the Caribbean islands.
